Kathleen Celestin Kathleen Celestin should have been a third-grade dropout. Nothing school related was appealing to her. Without realizing it, her Art teacher, Ms. Kaufmann convinced her to stay in school, through the love of art. While loving to create art, Kathleen did not choose the direct fine arts route in college, but she did take studio art courses whenever she could. She became an Elementary school teacher in a quest to help her students love school, but soon remembered that art was the key to her success at that age. In an attempt to share the love of art that Ms. Kaufmann instilled in her, she went back to school to earn a Master’s degree in Art Education

Danielle Mbenda Danielle Mbenda is a Texas artist, born in Cameroon and based in Austin. with nothing more than passion, a laptop, and a dream. She is a self-taught artist with a strong background in Architecture, IT Software Development, and Therapeutic Art.

As a little girl, I've always had that passion for doing things on my own in a unique way. Rather than going with the same old or following the convention when it comes to my outfits and accessories, I've always been interested in getting something new, unique, that no one hasn't seen before. In fact, I designed my school outfit when I was 12 years old. Transitioning from a young girl to a woman wasn't quite easy with my life experience as a victim of violence. I'm committed to supporting and empowering other victims. The artworks I create are from a cultural perspective. I would like to showcase the fact that there's inherent strength, beauty, and values in African background and heritage. I firmly believe that Culture is the possibility of creating, renewing, and sharing values, the inspiration which increases the vitality of humanity. I believe that valuable cultural exchange is mutual and offers the opportunity for deeper and prolonged commitment between people, and encourages responsible global citizenry.
