“Painting something that defies the law of the land is good. Painting something that defies the law of the land and the law of gravity at the same time is ideal.”

Contemporary Art Gallery Online announces their 3rd Annual “LANDSCAPES” Online Art Competition for the month of March 2015.

The gallery announces an international and national call for entries from artists regardless of where they reside to apply to this competition by submitting their best representational and non-representational art.

A call to artists is announced for the artist’s interpretation of the “Landscapes” theme. Submissions should depict the natural world, outdoor scenery, geographical environments’ and related landscape subjects for inclusion into this Art Competition and Exhibition.

Landscape comprises the visible features of an area of land, including the physical elements of landforms such as (ice-capped) mountains, hills, water bodies such as rivers, lakes, ponds and the sea, living elements of land cover including indigenous vegetation, human elements including different forms of land use, buildings and structures, and transitory elements such as lighting and weather conditions.  Combining both their physical origins and the cultural overlay of human presence, often created over millennia, landscapes reflect the living synthesis of people and place vital to local and national identity. Landscapes, their character and quality, help define the self-image of a region, its sense of place that differentiates it from other regions. It is the dynamic backdrop to people’s lives.

Contemporary Art Gallery Online encourages entries from all 2D and 3D artists regardless of their experience  or education in the art field. A group exhibition of all entrants will be held online at the Contemporary Art Gallery Online during the month of April 2015. Awards will be for top 5 places. In addition to the winning images, depending on the amount and the quality of the entries received, Honorable Recognition awards will also be presented.
