2019 FIGURATIVE / PORTRAIT
Art Exhibition & Competition Prospectus
““Every portrait that is painted with feeling is a portrait of the artist, not of the sitter. The sitter is merely the accident, the occasion. It is not he who is revealed by the painter; it is rather the painter who, on the coloured canvas, reveals himself.”
― Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray
Contemporary Art Gallery Online is proud to announce their 7th Annual “ALL Figurative / Portrait” Online Art Competition.
Contemporary Art Gallery Online encourages entries from all 2D and 3D artists regardless of their experience, education in the art field or where they may reside. This is an international competition and everyone is encouraged to participate. A group exhibition of all entrants will be held online at the Contemporary Art Gallery Online for thirty days immediately following the close of the competition.
Artists should submit their best representational and non-representational art related to the "Figurative / Portrait" theme. The “Figurative / Portrait” theme is considered to be any art which depicts either actual rendering of a person's face or figure or the depiction of a to be figure, form and/or face. Here is a link to last years EXHIBITION, so as to better demonstrate this month's theme.
This competition will be judged within three categories; Paintings, Photography and Mixed Media and 3D Work. Awards will be given for the top 6 to 8 works selected in each category, (this will depend on the number submissions in each category). In addition, depending on the amount and the quality of all submissions received, additional awards will also be presented.
